tips for hotel staff,
local guides, and boat
crews and for drivers of private transport the group uses. Please feel
free to add to any group tip amounts for excellent service.
It does not cover
restaurant tips. Any tip that you wish to give your leader in
recognition of excellent service is always appreciated.

Pyramids & Sphinx | |
Leaving the hotel at around 09:00 am
for the Giza plateau, where the 3 great Pyramids of Giza. You
will visit the Pyramid of Keops, the Sphinx & the Granite Temple
(you can visit the solar Boats for an extra cost). | |
Half Day:
The Egyptian Museum | |
Leave the hotel about 08:30 am for the
Egyptian Museum where the finest Ancient Egyptian antiquities,
among which the precious collection of Tutankhamen, are
displayed. | |
Half Day:
Memphis & Sakkara | |
Departure by car to Memphis, Capital
of the Ancient Kingdom of Lower Egypt, which is reached after a
pleasant drive across typical Egyptian countryside. Stop at the Alabaster Sphinx & the remaining of two colossal
statues of Ramses II. Then proceed to the Necropolis of Sakkara to visit the
Serapeum, the Mastabas of Ti & Ptahotep, the Step Pyramid of
Zoser & Funeral temple. | |
Half Day:
Citadel, Mosques & Oriental Bazaars

By car to the Citadel of Salah El
Din (Saladin) where a superb view of Cairo with the Pyramids in
the background can be seen. Visit the Mohamed Ali Mosques & the world famous Sultan Hassan
Mosque, then drive through the native quarters to visit the colorful
bazaars of Khan El Khalili. | | |
Half Day:
Old Cairo, Coptic Museum & Churches

Leave the hotel by car for Old
Cairo, visit the Coptic Museum, the Old Coptic Church "El
Moallaka" then to the Old Synagogue of Ben Ezra, the Abu Sirgha
Church. On the way back, a quick stop is made to see the Ancient
Nilometer on Rodah Island. | | |
Half Day:
El Azhar University, Islamic Museum & Mosques

By car to the millenary Islamic
University of El Azhar, then to the Islamic Museum where are kept, among other
treasures, an invaluable collection of Antique Mosques lamps. Tour continues to Ibn Touloun Mosques with the annexed
Anderson Museum of Islamic Art. | | |
Half Day:
Manial Palace & Cairo Tower | | |
Leave the hotel to Manial Palace
(ex-Crown Prince Mohamed Alis Oriental Palace) on Rodah Island,
where a fine collection of Arab Art & Mosaics can be admired. Visit of the reception, the rooms, the gardens, the private
museum, & the beautiful mosque. The duration of the visit is
around two hours. Then by car to the Cairo Tower (height 600 ft.) on Guezireh
Island to enjoy a panoramic view of Cairo | | |
Half Day:
Sailing Trip on the Nile | | |
A sailing boat trip around the
Guezirah Island is one of the most romantic trips in Cairo for
you to admire the beauty of the moonlight or the sunset. | | |
Whole
Day: Oasis of Fayoum & Lake Karoun

Excursion by car to Fayoum, a
fertile Oasis in the Western desert. Departure from Cairo,
passing through the villages of Guizeh, Hawamdieh, Badrashein,
El Ayat & across the desert to El Fayoum. Visit Madinet Fayoum, and then proceed to Auberge Du Lac on
the shore of Lake Karoun for lunch. Return by desert road. | |

a typical Oriental nightclub where oriental dances are the main

ALEXANDRIA Half Day: Sightseeing in town

Drive through town starting from
Mohamed Ali Square to Pompeys Pillar, the Catacombs of Kom El
Shukafa, the Greco-Roman Museum, the Mosque of Abu El Abbas, the
Fortress of Quait-Bey & the Roman Theatre. | |
Half Day:
Montazah Palace & Park | |
Along the Corniche (promenade) 20
kms, view the principal beaches of Ramlieh (residential suburb
of Alexandria) to Montazah. Visit the fabulous Palace, the attached museum, the beaches &
the beautiful park. | |
Whole
Day: El Alamein | |
Leave Alexandria at 08:00 am by car
through the Western Desert road (70 miles) to El Hamam & El
Alamein (The Two Flags), where one of the most decisive battles
of World War II (October 1942) took place. Visit of the
battlefield, the Allied Forces cemetery, Rommels headquarters,
& the German & Italian memorial monument. Cold lunch will be served at the "El Alamein Hotel" on the
beach. Return to Alexandria in the afternoon. | |
Two Half
Days: Excursions at Aswan | |
Half Day, excursions drive to the
High Dam. After its visit, proceed to The Granite Quarries, the
Unfinished Obelisks, & Old Aswan Dam for a motorboat excursion
to the Temple of Philae Island. Half Day, excursion by sailing boat to Elephantine Island,
visit the Old Nilometer, next proceed to the late Agha Khan III
Mausoleum | |
Whole
Day: Kom Ombo & Edfu | |
Leave the hotel by private car,
reaching Kom Ombo after one-hour drive on the Upper Egypt
Corniche & across the countryside. Visit of Kom Ombo Temple, which stands, on high grounds
overlooking the River Nile. Excursion continues to Edfu by car. Cross the Nile, and then
proceed by horse carriage to visit the majestic Temple dedicated
to Horus. | |
Half Day:
Abu Simbel | |
The colossal Temple of Abu Simbel
built by Ramses II (19th Dynasty) & lately saved from inundation
of the Nile water is among the glories of ancient Egyptian
monuments. The temples were built out of a sandstone rock cliff, &
representation of deities to which each was dedicated is carved
on his huge facade. Nearby, also saved, lies the small temple of the Kings wife Nefertari,
dedicated to the goddess Hathour. This excursion can be undertaken by plane or bus. | |

The Classical Excursions at Luxor | |
Day 1 |
Excursions to the Necropolis of
Thebes, on the Eastern Bank. Crossing the Nile, drive to the
Valley of the Kings; visit the tombs of the various
Dynasties, the Temple of Deir El Bahari. On the return journey, stop at the Colossi of Memnon which
are two gigantic sitting statues representing Amenophis III
facing the Nile. | |
Day 2 |
A.M.: Excursion to the Luxor
Temple to see its courtyard & the granite statues of Ramses
the Great. P.M.: proceed by carriage or bus to Karnak, which is a
series of temples built in a different reigns. Starting by
the avenue of Sphinxes, visit the Unfinished Propylon, the Hypostyle Hall
with its 134 gigantic columns, the Obelisks of Queen
Hatchepsut & Tutmosis III, the Temple of Amon adorned with
Lotus & Papyrus designs, the Granite Scarbeus of Amenophis
III & the Sacred Lake. |

Dendera & Abydos | |
|
Leave hotel by car early in the
morning; visit the Great Temple of Hathour, the Roman Mammisi &
Temple of Isis at Dendera, then proceed to his Cenotaph known as
the Osireon. The excursion is resumed by the visit of another Temple of
Great Ramses II. A cold lunch basket is provided. | |

Sightseeing From Sharm | |
|
St.
Katherine's Monastery
Visit the smallest and oldest dioceses in the world stands on
the highest spot on the Sinai Peninsula at 2,642m. This working
monastery is still home to several monks. Included is a guided tour of the monastery, the burning bush and
the idols and icons of worship. Also visit the restricted areas
(The Library, The Chapel, and the Mosaic Transfiguration). Please dress modestly and remember to take your passports.
Bedouin
Night Pick up a camel at the camel station and journey across the
desert to the Bedouin Tent. Take a seat around the fire and enjoy a meal in these
traditional surroundings. Take a sweater as the evenings become
cooler.
Ras Mohammed Ras Mohammed is
Egypt's first marine national park. A tour of the park is
included viewing the spectacular rock formations and perhaps
some of the local wildlife. Take your snorkeling gear and a
towel, as you will stop at the main beach afterwards for a quick
swim. Also included is a visit to the mangroves and the hidden
Bay. Don't forget your passports!
Lazy day
boat trip
A relaxing and full day of swimming and snorkeling out 3
different spots on the reef. Lunch and drinks are included.
The
Colored Canyon
Walk and climb through the spectacular formations of the colored
canyon, which isn't an easy stroll!! Stop at a hotel on the way
back for lunch (included) and have a wander through the streets
of Nuweiba or relax on the beach. | |
